Eleven Kansas School Superintendents, chosen by the University of Kansas Achievement and Assessment Institute, recently toured the Jayhawk Athletic Performance Laboratory. The Superintendents observed the research being conducted in each lab area, including the Jayhawk Athletic Performance Laboratory, Research Lab 212, and the YES Center. They also had the chance to take part in several research activities. The goal of the tour was to inform the Superintendents about the services available to schools for athletic teams and physical education classes.
The Jayhawk Athletic Performance Laboratory is one of two AAI Tactical Centers in the Department of Health, Sport and Exercise Sciences. The other Tactical Center is Well Fit|Center for Youth Wellness and Fitness. The work of the Achievement & Assessment Institute and its centers is guided by one simple principle: improving the lives of children and adults. This is accomplished through academics, research, direct-impact programming, developing healthy environments, community engagement, and more. They provide innovative tools to enhance the capacity of organizations that help children, adults, and communities, and offer support to KU faculty whose research relates to key areas of our mission.
