About
Dr. Quincy Johnson holds a Ph.D. in Health, Leisure, and Human Performance and is passionate about enhancing athletic performance through coach education and sound strength and conditioning approaches. Johnson is a published researcher and holds certifications for NSCA-CSCS*D (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with Distinction), NSCA-CPT*D (Certified Personal Trainer with Distinction), USAW-1 (USA Weightlifting), FMS-1 (Functional Movement Systems), and ISPAS-2 (International Society of Performance Analysis of Sport).
For the last decade, Johnson has worked with athletes of all ages and abilities. Specifically, he has worked within high school, NCAA Division I and II, professional (MLB, MLS, NFL, NBA), and Olympic-level (USMNT) sports performance settings. His performance system consists of enhancing athletic readiness, potential, and performance through movement, strength, power, and speed development.
He currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of Kansas within the Department of Health, Sport and Exercise Sciences and is a resident of Kansas. Beyond the classroom, Dr. Johnson actively leverages his expertise to serve in the following roles as the:
- Assistant Director of the Jayhawk Athletic Performance Laboratory, a member of the Wu-Tsai Human Performance Alliance
- Associate Director of the Well-Fit Center
- Program Coordinator for Jayhawk Performance
- Co-Founder of Oklahoma State University’s Golf Research Innovation and Performance Center
- Founder, Midland University Powerlifting
Prior to KU, he served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Nebraska at Kearney and the Director of Loper Performance.
